Site
Raglan Castle, Raglan, Monmouthshire NP15 2BT. Off the A40, 7 miles SW of Monmouth, Gwent, SE Wales. The site is discreetly wet.
We have the site from 4pm (1600 h) on Thursday 20th to 12 noon (1200 h) on Monday 24th August.
Accommodation and food
Camping only. No tent pegs are to penetrate the ground deeper than 75 mm (CADW rules). Food is mostly self-catering. Breakfast will be available on Saturday and Sunday only, at a cost of £3 per person, per day – prebook via the autocrat please. If attendees wish to cook their own food on site, all fires must be raised off the ground with trays underneath to catch embers. Do not disturb or remove the turf (CADW rules). Please, no pets.
We have space for only about 25 period tents and priority will be given to those staying for the whole event. Those not staying for the whole event will be allocated space in the mundane encampment. Please indicate in your booking the FULL dimensions of your tent, including any awnings/extensions, and both with and without guy-ropes (we may have to cross ropes in some areas). Also, if your tent has the door in a specific location, please indicate this. No erection of tents will be permitted after 11pm (2300 h). Please bear this in mind when planning your travel arrangements.
There is additional room in the hidden non-period encampment this year.
Please be aware that the public have full access to the castle during most of our activities. We would greatly appreciate all willing constables and marshals to ensure that all are kept safe.
Raglan village is a brisk walk from the castle, with shops, pubs and other food outlets. There are a number of Hotels and B&Bs in Raglan village.
