Caerphilly Demo
12th - 13th December 2009
The Shire of Mynydd Gwyn is proud to announce they will be aiding CADW at their Christmas event at Caerphilly Castle in December.
We shall be putting on displays both in the arts and sciences and of fighting prowess. So far we have confirmed fighters, cooks, pewter makers, leather workers... could you bring a skill to display to the public? Help support Mynydd Gwyn in to attracting more of the local populas in to our great society!
Join the discussion group on Yahoo and help to make the demo a huge success!
Site
Caerphilly Castle, Castle St, Caerphilly, Mid Glamorgan, CF83 1JD (Caerphilly Castle)
Set up is anytime Friday from 9.30am, two full days of demo on the Saturday and Sunday. Site clear up after 5pm on the Sunday or Monday from 9.30am.
Note for set up / clear up: CADW have generously offered use of a few flat bed trolley's for your use for set up should we require them. Additionally they have advised that anything as big as a transit van can be driven to the castle for set up.
Accommodation and food
Period tentage is very much needed for set up in the Castle grounds. Please make sure to send your tent dimensions! CADW have also made crash space available in the hall. Please ensure that you bring plenty of warm blankets for the hall as it will be very cold in December.
Mundane tents: there may be an area for mundane tents for us to use, but it is also the area to be used for car parking.
Feast
None, however we will be putting together period food stuffs during the day for consumption at a small cost. If someone is traveling a great distance and needs assistance getting together food stuffs please speak with the autocrats in advance.
Cooking equipment should be 12 inches minimum off the ground with protection over the grass (ie a piece of board or such). Fire boxes should be kept at least an arm's distance from the public with a suitable barrier inbetween - such as a rope.

If you require a pick up you MUST arrange in advance or it is unlikely we will be able to accommodate you. There maybe a small pick up charge. Due to the event being in the centre of Caerphilly it is quite accessible by public transport from Cardiff.
